Richard: I would love that model of tractor (MH being my favourite brand, but having said that it would not be my choice for a haying tractor. It is also getting near 50 years old and while parts are available,it would be the injection equipment that would concern me. The 44D's are a real workhorse, but for a lot of maneuvering like haying, they can get pretty tiresome unless the power steering is working very well. For 80 acres of hay I would suggest a later model of nearly any brand that would be equivalent power of a 44D, like maybe a Massey 65 or 165, just for ease of operation. And yes, $ 2500 seems it's like in the ballpark. Good Luck whatever you do. Tom
