To my knowledge, all the truck 6.2 and 6.5 heads can be interchanged - except for the later 6.5s that have center-mount turbos (used on vans and some Hummers). 6.5 heads when put onto a 6.2 require a slight bending of the injector lines since the injectors are at a slightly different angle.

Just put new 6.5 heads - the latest version - on my son's 87 Suburban with a 6.2.

The 6.5 heads were improved a bit over the years, but still interchange. The newest heads are now made in China and are much better quality than anything GM ever offered OEM. They each have an extra 4 lbs of iron, and also hardened seat inserts and rotators.
