In Michigan, you can shoot, or use deadly force only if you fear for your or someone'elses life. But then you better be sure you can convince 12 jurors, not of your choice. They may well try you anyway. Then even if you get off on the criminal count, there is the culpript's friends and family in civil court sewing you for shooting their dear, harmless, victimized angel, who wouldn't have hurt a flea, as he breaks into your dwelling, attacks your family, etc. Even if you get off on the criminal side, the civil side can take everything you own or ever even wished you owned. You might better turn the gun on your family or yourself, than an intruder!
