What's an average?(:-)Seriously tho, the county average is 30b/a, 4 years ago cut some 42, next year the big white sky combine got it, year after was 15, last year was 26. What with being a dryland operation and the drought its a real crapshoot, like my wife says don't quit your day job. In all truth considering the year it wasn't all that bad, will pay off some bills and cover the farming costs.
There are a few dairys in the state, mostly over on the western side near Utah. There is a grade b operation near me, I think they milk 2700 head with a carosel setup-use a bunch of South Americans and Mexicans for milking hands. I guess its quite a setup, need to get over there some day and tour it.
