All of a sudden I am starting to feel a little better about selling my 95 F250 Powerstroke a couple years ago. Replaced it with a 01 Chevy 2500 4x4 gas burner. Highway mileage empty was similar, around 17 to 18 on either. The 01 only makes around 8 to 10 pulling a trailer, the diesel was 10 to 12. Getting about ready to pull my 87 Chevy 6.2 diesel 4x4 out of retirement even though well rusted. It makes around 22 empty and 14 pulling a trailer. The 6.2 is SUPPOSED to be a junk motor, but why does it make better mileage than the new ones? Only gripe was it WAS a little short on power in the hills.
