I have a Ford 4000, gas 3-cyl, select-o-matic trans., and Ford front end loader on it. A friend of mine told me that the select-o-matic transmissions are junk & that you can't get parts for them. Says he went to a tractor junkyard where they had a huge stack of them because people swap them out for stick shift transmissions. What's the word on this? Could someone also tell me what the b.h.p. on the gas three cyinder is? I'll have to either rebuild the present engine or replace it so does anyone know where I can find rebuild kits, rebuilt engines or used engines at?? Thanks.
