Doug, We have been with Hughesnet for about four months. We had several other dialup providers including People PC just prior to our switch to Hughes. Whether it was the 19 to, on a "good" day, 21.6 kbps or the "bilingual" but uninteligable customer assistance from Pakistan(?) is a tossup but we haven"t looked back at dial up. True blue wasn"t available in our area. Heavy dust from windstorms, smog and rain has affected it but not wiped out our Dirtect TV that is right next to it. Had some bad luck for the last month until we figured out that the installer hadn"t properly tightened the mounting bolts. Got up on the roof last night and lucked in to redirecting and tightening things. Now it works the best it ever has and that is GREAT. I almost think that it never was completely bore sighted on the satellite. We have the no frills plan that is still a lot more expensive than most dial ups but life is too short to ever return to the phone lines. Good luck on your high speed You"ll love it. Best Regards Don
