I think it's ok if the barn is at least 50 ft. away from your well, that way it takes years before all those heavy metals get into your water. Why waste all that old oil on that barn, just throw it on the driveway to keep the dust down. They used to use some kind of petrolium mix on circus tents too, till they found out it was flamable.
