seal lube to fix leaky gov.

I have oil getting into my magneto from the gov. in my 49 cub. It was suggested that I use seal lube. Seal lube is supposed to restore seals and stop leaks. Anyone have anything to say about this type of product?? It would save me a couple of hours, maybe more, using this instead of tearing down the tractor. Thanks
