Regrettably not many color breeds here any more either. All the
dairies are in the business of producing oceans of rather low
quality milk from multi thousand cow herds. Cornell teaches them
to run the business that way. They are producing themselves into
bankrupcy. There is way to much milk on the market and the price
is at 1970's levels. To try to survive they add a thousand cows. A
few Amish and Menonite farms are milking color breeds and they
have a local market for "boutique" milk cheese and butter. I buy
their stuff when ever I can.
