Check camper rigs, trailer towers. I recently replaced the 4eod- overdrive trans in Ford van with early 3 speed. 4 speed overdrive spit out fluid, overheated, burned out low gears- 3 speed was available as return favor so used it instead of spending $1000.00 for rebuild. Works good, mileage about same under 55. Tranny shop said older units have less to go wrong- especially computer controls- so some working trucks that tow and haul get them installed when overdrives go out. 3 speeds have a bit larger clutch surface area, can get extra disc in for low gear so take abuse better than usual 4speed. Snow plow rigs get swapped second season after losing low gear also. RN
