I heard that the oil company only makes about 8 cents per gallon, while the government takes in the 35 to 45 cents mentioned above in taxes. I blame the enviromentalists more than anyone. We can't drill off the Florida coast cause it ruins the view, we can't drill in ANWAR, We cant build refineries cause no one wants them in their back yard, and we have tons of special additives and formulations that various states and cities require. Not to mention the cost that EPA, DNR, OSHA, etc tacks on in increased costs. I think we are paying our dues for letting too many wacko's run things. Gene
