When you replaced the carb did you adjust the linkage to be set right?
You need adjust that linkage arm from the govenor to the carb.
Take the pin out of the linkage rod where it comes over from the govenor. Then push the throtal (govener control) all the way up for high speed. then push the rod that goes to the carb all the way back towards the seat. Then you adjust your linkage while holding the rod back to line up with the hole on the govenor arm. when it lines up put the pin back it.
If you don't have this adjusted right when you run the tractor under load you can kill the engine becasue the govenor can not adjust itself to give the carb more gas.
