Let me start this off by stating I appreciate your confidence and open-ness is sharing your feelings. Love has become a cheap thing in our society, but the real thing is still there and worth the price.

I'm carefully reading your post trying to determine where she weighs in on the heart monitor. I assume you are both approximately the same age. I know I was not too much for the often confusing dating/game playing thing. I consider myself a pretty good communicator. At some point in my relationships, if I continued to be interested, but was not sure where she stood, I (in good taste) had a flat out talk with her, stating I had enjoyed our relationship to this point and without looking into the future too far would like us to continue persuing it. Then I would ask her if she felt the same way. Like I said I'm all for timing, finess, romancing, etc. but I am a rather serious minded person and don't like wasting time, emotional energy, and money. I figured if the girl could not handle a rather straight forward discussion like this, they probably were not my type anyway, as I am a no nonsense type person. Generally I found I was well received and appreciated in so doing.

We will be married 22 years as of June 2. It has not been 22 years of blissfull romance, but we have a real relationship facing/living life together. We've been through soem pretty big challenges. She's true blue. I love her. She loves me (that's the amazing part).

If I were to find myself in my early twenties all over again, I'd face dating with the same practical approach. It works for me.

Glenn

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: 1951 Farmall H - by The Red (John Fritz). I have been a collector of Farmall tractors since 1990 when I first obtained part of the family farm in Eastern Indiana. My current collection includes a 1938 F20, 1945 H, 1946 H, and the recently purchased 1951 H. This article will focus on what I encountered and what I did to bring the 1951 NEAR DEATH Farmall H back to life. ... [Read Article]
