ktheol, Chances stannd to reason you are trying to rope with Hard lay,This lariet that has more in common with a cable than a rope! But since that is what you have lets see if we can get it conditioned so it can be used. First unloop the loop, then put the hondo over the ball hitch of you pickup, then uncoil the rope out and take the back end and loop around a good solid object, another truck hitch, post, tree. Use a reversed square knot so not to break the way the rope lays. Then streach it out, get the slack out and drawn taunt, then take up extra tension, in 1 to 2 ft streaches. Leave it taunt for an hour or so in between take ups. Just don't get radical/overzelious in the streachens. try it some, Loop it back up and try it, If it is still too stiff, restreach it. Go get your buddy to help. Those ol Nylons will streach a long way before they break. Next time.....Buy a 3/8 Scant, Soft or Med-soft "Classic Rope Co." Green Money Maker rope. Leave the Hard lay ropes alone. Hope this helps, Later, John A.
