I remember doing that with a cow years ago. She had gotten away from me and was kinda having her way when I tripped and went down. I'm not sure how I did it but there was a skiff of snow on the ground I was pretty stout back then. I got my feet around ahead of me and let the cow stand me back up again. By that time she was getting run down and I was just getting my 2nd wind. Got her back to the barn and loaded in the trailer. Nahh, I don't know nothin' about lariats but I do know if the horse and the cow are moving at the same speed it ain't no big trick to drop a loop over bossie's head. Now if you are afoot it is a whole different game. BTDT mzny times.
