Not dumb, most of the stuff they sell for ropinf now would not pass for a lariat when I was growing up on the Ranch. We made our own from old rope that had stiffened some. I was at a sale a while back and found some Rope that was stiff and everyone was passing it up I thought that would work good for a Lasso so I bought it. Worked very good was just the right stiffness. Sometimes you just luck out I guess. If you can find one the Mexican ropes are very good but hard to find and costly. Walt
