I use it on the roller chains on most of my eguipment. It sticks on much longer than used motor oil. You can also use nondetergent motor oil which is also somwhat sticky. I buy bar and chain oil in 5 gallon pails at fleet farm and its about half the price of nondetergent motor oil. Don't use it on chains that run in dirt like planter chains as it will stick the abrasive dirt to the chian and wear the sprockets faster.
