So I wasn't supposed to put 24v to a 12v system? I was in a bad way and needed to get home. I had one dead battery and another dead one in the truck. I connected the pos lead to one battery and the neg to the other. I interconnected the two (+/-) with one side of a set of jumper cables. This placed the two dead batteries in series and the net result was 24 volts (likely about 18v due to the dead batteries. Even at 18v, the starter spun like mad and the truck started immediately. I disconnected the batteries and reconnected one. I am sure it was not terribly intelligent, but I got home on a darn cold day. Cheers, Aaron
