Allen, Bloat block may be in order if you are getting ready to turn out on grass.Sounds like you nailed it with the alfalfa hay and being wet to boot. It sounds like bloat to me. There has been quite a bit of grass tetany here, but doesn't sound like your problem. They are saying to use a mineral high in Magnesium if you are turning cattle out on grass early. THe grass is growing faster than it can take up magnesium, thus grass tetany. The magnesium is not very palatable, soo they are saying to mix it with some molasses to make sure your cattle get it before turning out. Good luck to you.
