Depends on how rough thew feild is... I just started feildwork on Sunday and going in for the 1st time since plowing, I do the headlands first just to knock down the big bumps so when I turn around it isn't so rough. After the 1st pass, I'll do the headlands last just to clean it up and make it look nice... In a feild we're seeding down for hay, we'll work it twice diagonally crossing them and then we gop once more in the direction we're going to be cutting and baling it. It really does make a difference with the last pass, we have one we were in a hurry so we only did it diagonally and then went at it to beat the rain. Now when cutting and baling you can feel the tractor constantly rolling side to side like you're on a lake with a real small wave. Kinda rocks a guy to sleep after a while... As for corn, once or twice diagonally then plant. Diagonal jut makes it a whole bunch easier to see the marker plus the texture isn't as important. Donovan from Wisconsin
