Gary, I have had good luck with an aerosol 'goof off'. It was slow going, but once you got it started, you could spray under it and make a little better progress. The only thing I noticed about the paint afterwards was you could see the letters outline-I think that was from sun fade around the decal-they had been on for probably 4 years when removed. Greg
