A 50W or even a 60W will slow it down a good bit. My 1935 JD-B smokes a lot and I always run a 50W oil in it and have for years. But it still has the same rings in it as it did when my grand father owned it and I'm not going to open it up till I just plan have to which I'm hoping will be never
