Kelly, Has that herford had her shots? If she is just weaned and your not sure you had better get her a dose of a four way respitory vaccine to prevent shipping fever. You'll also need to give her a seconed dose in two weeks. Sure hate to have her get sick and die on you. As for the blackie you are wise to get rid of her. She will never calm down completely unless she is in a larger herd and then she will have a hair trigger. Your lucky you caught her, if she got away she would have been a real challange to recapture with no fences and no larger herd to join with. I keep 20 heifers back every year from my angus herford cross cows and somtimes I get a high strung one that I have to cull, can't stand wild cattle. Herfords are about the best breed for calm disposition so I think you'll have her eating out of your hand in no time. Good luck!
