Note: If the general painted areas are not rusty, they can be sanded with #220 wet-or-dry sandpaper. Any rust must be sanded as smooth as possible, but if it is pitted, you must use a filler on those areas. I use plastic filler with hardener. when cured, sand it smooth, feather-edge the edges, and prime it with 3-4 coats of automotive primer. Any small pits in the metal, you can use an automotive type of spot putty, or use a filler/primer first. No need to sand-blast the entire sheet metal areas, if not rust pitted! Blasting the light sheet metal might warp the panels! Yes, it will warp the sheet metal! Ask me how i know!! Read back thru the posts--you'll find a wealth of info, especially from CNKS, and others.
