My Dad and I tried a Ford 871 in 1959 with SOS. It was painted a gold color (colour?) and performed very well in our brief trial. My Dad was sold on it but I talked him out of it. It was a real disaster on the 6000 Commander series. It was all they offered on that tractor. Ford tried to make good by offering the farmers a new tractor and the only additional charge would be for new tires (tyres?) unless they wanted their old tires (tyres?) mounted on the new tractor. The new 6000's broke down as fast as the old ones. (Transmission failure).
