If it was the condenser there would have been a lot of noise as th engine backfired and sputtered to a stop.

The best test is to remove the coil wire from the distributor then short the - wire from the coil to a ground if you get spark then its ok then just work down the line till you get to the ground at the distributor. Turn the engine so that the points are open then short across them with a screwdriver when you break the connection the coil should fire.
Also check the ignition switch it could be bad and you are not getting juice to the coil.
Its like looking for the reason your sprinkler won't work start at the pump and work towards the sprinkler there should something broken or plugged or some reason the water (electricity )is not getting to the end of the run.
