Electronic ignition is nothing more than an electronic triggering rotor and module that triggers or makes and brakes the circuit to the coil which then creates the spark voltage. Using the same coil , wires and plugs , this unit will do no better than the points type ignition until you get over 6000 rpm. Why do you think the sellers that claim all the gains also tell you to purchase the "matching" Hi Po coil , Hi Po wire set etc , etc?? Put this same stuff on a points ignition and you will get the same gains. The points don't carry the secondary (high) voltage. Usually less than 12 volts. Spend your money on good coil , wires , plugs and carb and starter tune up and forget the EI. Also check back through these pages for the unfortunate ones asking why their EI modules "blew" and they have no fire. Points for tractors / EI for hot rods.
