Read the FAQ's at the company Billy has linked to. While there's some marketing slant to some of what they say, in general they're pretty much correct. I did notice one misleading statement on their home page, where they talk about lightning having voltage in excess of some large value. In terms of the effects of a lightning strike, the voltage is immaterial. What counts is the magnitude of the current pulse, which is what determines how much energy is deposited in the material the current is flowing through. Keith
