As you all know, Ben Franklin was an early experimenter with electricity and was an advocate of putting lightning rods on buildings. When he installed one on his own home the people in his church scoffed at him and told him that if he would only mend his ways a little he wouldn't have such a powerful fear of being struck by lightning.
