When this happens, open "Windows Task Manager", control-alt-delete. Look under processes and push the "CPU" column twice, this will get all active processes to the top and tell you whats running and how much cpu its using. See what "Image Name" looks out of place or if you don't know google them. The type of virus you have should be easy to find, but you'll have to do some research to get rid of it.
