Did you try running it while in safe mode? IF you go to www.filehippo.com there are other adware and spybot scanners there as well. I also like to look through the add/remove programs list and remove what I don't recognize.

Hijackthis is available from filehippo.com but you have to know what you are doing to use it. Generaly if I see something I don't recognize listed in Hijackthis I do a google search on it and see what comes up.
