I know there are a lot of good oils out there, and everyone probably has a favorite. all I can tell you is my own experience. I overhauled my 1940 JD H in 1974. At the time it was the only tractor I had and I used it hard, after all it"s only 13HP. 25 years later I decided to restore it to original, still ran fine & never used a drop of oil in those 25 years. I tore the engine down just because I thought I should after that long. The cylinders had less than .001" of taper, there was no measurable wear on the crankshaft. The pistons showed no wear, and so did the rod bearings. The only wear I could find on any moving part was the end gap on the oil rings was about .045". I short this engine was the same as it was when I put it together 25 years earlier. It always had Quaker State 10W-40 oil in it and was changed regularly. Ther eare other good oils I know but the results speak for them selves. I have a 1991 Ford F150 with 193,000 mile4s on it, again Quaker State 10W30 always and still does not burn any oil. The only engine I ever had premature problems with had been using Standard Oil, it was my wifes car & I can"t remember what particular oil was used. Anyway I use Quaker State in everything I own. Just my opinion,
