You can buy a nice Massey Ferguson 35 or 135 that's used, but has all the modern features. They are in the 32-38 hp. range and are very strong and handy. 3-5 grand will get you a real nice clean one. Personally ,I very successfully, do my work with a 2N Ford that has some "updates" added. The only thing it lacks that I'd like to have is live pto and hydraulics. Otherwise it perfectlly fills the bill. Equipped as it is I'd honestly say it's worth 3000.
