I am looking for suggestions as to a type and source for a good, hi-build, sandable primer. I would prefer not to go with a 2 or 3 part primer, because of the hassle. I think a lacquer based would be fine. A local supplier sells a gallon of DuPont 131S Fill 'N Sand (i think that is what it is called) for $74. Is this about as cheap as I am going to find? I will be refinishing the sheet metal on my Ford 650, which is solid, but has a coat or two of brushed blue paint. I don't know that I'll take it al the way down to the metal everywhere, but it will be bare steel in some places. Some of the metal parts are quite pitted from rust, so they will require a few cycles of prime, and sand. For the top coat, I already have the proper colors of tractor enamel. Suggestions?
