First off verify your situation as per those who have posted before me. To salvage your bat box take it back down to shiney metal (not a speck of rust remaining), prime and coat with battery box paint-at least 3 heavy coats. All wet cell batterys emit hydrogen sulfide gas and sulfuric acd vapors during the charge cycle. They are both heavier than air and extremly corrosive. Might want to check out an Optima battery. The coating can be found at most auto parts emporiums.
