Development is inevitable down here around Houston so anyone wanting to stay around and keep farming, cattle, etc put up a big sign on their place with their "business name" on it in hopes that anyone looking to buy knows up front what's over there. There's a guy South of Houston I saw do that and that's been about 4 years ago. He feeds cattle there and him, cattle and sign are still there. Hope everything works out for you and I wish you the best. mee
