Run the archives here (they can be awkward and cumbersome if you haven"t done it before, but no one"s perfect); there"ll be a bunch of posts re" history etc (it"s complex, convoluted and fascinating). Paint colors are out of my field, but there are a number of pix available, here and gasenginemagazine.com archives, etc..
