A tough question because it transcends many eras. My neighbour had an Allis WD45 and pound for pound that tractor had balls up against anything you name. We had an M and it was a great tractor, but how can you compare these 50's tractors with 70's tractors or newer..too many things to compare, weight, rated horse power, gearing..there were many great tractors out there that suited certain needs and the majority of farmers were satisfied with their purchases for their particular purpose. I have 6 tractors each one has qualities that make it stand out but not surpass the qualities of others..a tough question to ponder indeed!
