Truck, 50 years ago I lived in West Texas and the farmers would use dozers to blade the mesquite off the surface and pile it up then burn it. Then they would use deep diggers on the dozers to break up the root systems and rake them up and use them for BBQ or burn them in piles too. I would ask the locals what they do to get rid of the stuff. You might be able to spray it with Roundup which is systemic and will make the roots rot away as well as the rest of the plant if you are not in a real rush for clearing. My mothers family farmed near Coleman in the 30`s.
