Actually I run a 7 foot 2-stage, single cross auger blower with a 27 hp tractor. However it has 3 reverse gears, low is quite slow, and it has a live pto. In the deep snow I do put some wear on the clutch riding it. In average snows it works great. I have other tractors to put it on if I need a cab or more power for a really bad winter.

So, hp isn't the issue. It is speed & being able to stop & inch through the deep parts.
