We have a 1270 with over 12,000 hours on the rearend and it used to plow 800+ acres a year. Never had an axle seal go out but about 5 years ago it did have an axle bearing go out and I think it was the left one. Unless you're using a rollover plow the right side axle would be lower than the left since it is in the furrow therefore it would have oil in it due to gravity as opposed to the left side which would have to have oil pumped up to it to keep it lubed.
