Most Pharmacy's carry sodium silicate (egg whites) behind the counter in pint jars for $5 to $10. Wal-Mart and Walgreens both carry it if you ask for it.

Another use is for sealing cardboard boxs or gluing the flaps together.

I use about 1/4 of a pint added slowly while the engine is running and hot. Takes about a 1/2hr to start sealing pinholes and will last about 25k miles between treatments.

Too much and you'll plug up the system. Also it doesn't like anti-freeze and it takes less when used with anti-freeze. a real PITA to get the mix just right. If you get too much then it's flush with hot water and start over. No, you can't just dilute the mix with water for some reason.

To spot a engine with sodium silicate that's been added, look for white crystals around the filler neck opening, looks like salt. I would not buy a engine where sodium silcate has been used.
