We've got a homebuilt 15" IH 800 bean planter and a JD 7200 12 row for corn but our next corn planter will be a Case IH 1200. We've put alot of attachments on our Deere to no-till at the same level that the IH will with no attachments. I've use the 800 planters to no-till into just about any condition I can think of from heavy corn stalks and hard, dry sod to standing water in terrace channels and over the widest variety of conditions the IH planter units seem to work better than the Deere's. The Deere planter's will work for no-till but in our conditions it seems like they need to be customized for the conditions much more than the IH units do. For planting corn I would take a finger pickup meter over the Cyclo meter but overall I'd take the red planter.
