Someone mentioned this in the thread, but I did not see you respond. Take the cap off and take a good look with a flashlight inside the tank. I also had a plug in the bottom of the gas tank on my 2424. Symptoms were very similar to yours. I finally fished out a piece of golden rod or maybe old fuel soaked wood. It would run for a while until the fuel draw pulled it into the nipple in the bottom of the tank - then it would die. Tim in NY
