If your area to be cleared includes any hills, traction can be an issue. Without 4wd, you will certainly need chains. I had a MF165, with loaded tires and chains-- still had trouble going up my neighbor's hilly driveway. My curent Kubota M5700 with 4wd does better, but it can still spin out too.
A slow reverse gear is also important. If you could use the high range on my MF165, there was not enough snow to make it worthwhile to remove.
