I've run into same problem on serpentine belt vehicles.The problem is usually the belt being too dry.Even new ones may be too dry.Dry belts soak up moisture from the air and squeak.

Try a good notch-ribbed belt like Goodyear gator-back.Cheaper belts aren't worth it.

Are you sure the water pump isn't seeping at pump bearing drain hole?
