The 6.0 had some problems in 2003 and 2004 until they basically redesigned it. The 2005 and up have been comparable to the 7.3 in reliability but with a lot more power. The 6.0 has given Ford almost 50% of the deisel market, one of the few bright spots in their ever increasing dismal sales position. Our company has a couple 2005s and 2006s that have been OK to this point. I have one brother that bought a 2006 that already has 120K+ HARD PULLING miles on it. His only complaint is that the tires are so God*&^% expensive and none seem to be made for real world towing and hauling. He had one set that lasted less then 20K, he figured they were meant for the dentist that owned a SD to pull his jet skis, not a farmer pulling gooseneck full of big square bales. For all the recent bashing made by some owners and by Ford on the engine when Navistar pulled the plug on the 6.4 Ford went to court to REQUIRE the shipments continue (hardly sounds like a POS they didn't want). I agree with a post made below, until a bunch of those engines are on the road with 100K+ on them no one can offer an informed opinion.

You got to understand that while my Mom is a hard worker who will always help whenever she can... she had never operated farm machinery before that day. Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o
