open steering

i have come accross a farmall looks like a regular or a f30 just dont know how to tell. it has a open steering box open gears have never seen this it is on full steel and on the left side of the clutch housing is # 1565da that is the only marking on it cant find a sn tag... how rare is the open steering??? thanks any info will help
