Leave the oil analysis to the professionals. Find a place that will check it for you and tell you exactly what's up. Oil will come out with small metal particulate matter in suspension, that's what detergent oil is supposed to do. Most all these gas engines (especially if not run hot and hard) will catch the aroma of todays gasoline from normal blow by.
